This world was like any other. The population had evolved, grown in knowledge, and wondered if they were alone.
Then the spores had fallen, killing off most of the population, and setting up their ecology to be replaced by the Harvester's. The local population had tried to fight, but it had been in vain. Now, the Harvester ecology responded to the call from the Fleet, and gathered the biomass to be consumed.
The Fleet's ships were all over the planet, suckling at the Hives that had been produced, and dropping off the gigatons of waste that had been produced in their trip across the gulf between stars. They had to keep moving, otherwise the ships would choke on their own wastes. Their territory was a series of planets that would be visited in turn, suckling the necessary nutrients, and removing the wastes.
Why did the Fleet stay together, instead of spreading out and making the load lighter on the individual planets? Because outside their territory was the Nightmare.
Really interesting concept and great use of atmospheric perspective and blurring/detail to give a sense of focus. I also really like the balance in the compositionm as well as the reflections on that small bubble on the right side.
Wow! Just very epical! I see here a very good imrovement! It's more organical, more a whole world, you create here! (Nut that your other works are complete scenery) Wonderful colors, great depth and great space ships!
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Especially since it's the first work I've uploaded in months. Have just finished my hardest semester ever at my university so I've produced a lot of scraps and sketches but few completely rendered paintings this year. I hope I'll be able to upload more regularly from now on.
